Bitter Medicine

"On the other hand, why on earth is doing right like taking a bitter medicine?"

Why is it that most of the things we mostly enjoy doing are forbidden? Prohibited from lying, casual sex talks, smoking, drinking, surfing/watching porns, absenteeism, gossiping other people's lives, self-gratification, gambling, truant, " I will start tomorrow, promise" habit, corruption, cheating (especially during exams, lol) etc.

On the other hand, why on earth is doing right like taking a bitter medicine? Take for example following stated rules and laws like throwing our trash on garbage cans, simple and healthy living, self-discipline, going to Church, spitting out truth in our mouth ALL the time etc.

I think different factors will answer on why such activities we're fun doing are considered taboo and executing the appropriate act is like swallowing a raw spinach. Well I guess no one will be enticed to do the forbidden things if we do not enjoy them in the first place. They are like little sins concealed in a Toblerone. So sweet, we could munch a whole bar. And another. And another, till we drown ourself with these earthly pleasures. Sure thing life's short and indulging ourselves with our caprices once in a while is fair enough. No objection about that. However, I think the provoking enzyme that will put balance in all of these is knowing our limits. That is freedom to its truest sense, I must say.

As with the bitter medicines that we ought not to take, think again myFriend. Sure thing again that life's short, but given such a great opportunity...will it not be better if we live a life worthwhile? It won't be easy, no doubt 'bout that. And choosing this path will take more than just planned ideas, guts and saliva swallowed.

Choose your treat. Toblerone sure's sumptuous while just the thought of the bitter medicine aesthetics makes me dizzy. But I already picked my delight. Clue...I am having a sound sleep everyday :)

the things we like to do are forbidden - nice thought but whose imposing they are wrong?

the conscience? the person's mother? the society?

hmmm... casual sex talks are no fuss, just depends to whom your having the conversation (but no kiss and tell please......)

Oh well, just passing by.....
